The dog has to swing, roll, and toss the toy around by its rope in order to get the treats to fall out of the top. However, the rope has a knot inside the Jug, preventing the treats from falling out if the rope is pulled tight. A real challenge for dogs who unlike us humans do not have hands and fingers to tilt the toy from side to side!
This treat toy provides a multi-sensory appeal to keep your dog entertained and motivated to play. The unique design of this patented toy allows dogs to see, smell and hear the treats as they roll around in the jug.
The Tug-a-Jug not only dispenses treats, if can also be used for obedience training and feeding meals.
Suitable for both dried food and treats, and fresh treats - the bottom of the Jug can be unscrewed so that it can be cleaned after use.
PLEASE NOTE: some dogs may chew through the rope during play. However, this does not mean that the toy is unusable. Dogs have had much success continuing to play with their Tug-a-Jug when their owners have placed various sized balls inside the jug with the kibble or treats. As the balls roll back and forth, they act as a barrier and method of metering out the food. By changing the size of the balls or the treats, the level of difficulty can be adjusted to suit your dog's level of play and interest. We recommend using a couple of golf balls to begin with to build your dog's confidence as he plays. Once he understands the new rules of the game, you can be creative or adventurous as you like with your selection of barriers.
