When using this House Line, it is extremely important for you to BE CONSISTANT and not speak or give your dog eye contact when it is "misbehaving". One of the biggest rewards you can give a dog is your attention - that is why "bad" behaviours become so common (sadly in some households, it may be the only time the dog is looked at and spoken/shouted at, as it is ignored when it is being "good").

Attach the house line to your dog's harness or collar so that it is trailing behind the dog while it is moving freely around the house and garden. If the dog misbehaves calmly pick up the end of the house line and move the dog away from the situation. Remember not to look or speak to the dog. When it is offering behaviour that is acceptable then praise your dog.
