This clever toy is designed to offer different stages and challenges of chewing -
The two different types of rawhide & cornstarch rings (which are tightly screwed in between the nylon ends and the rubber ball which is in the middle) can be easily chewed around the edges. This allows dogs with low confidence an opportunity to succeed and accomplish something fairly easily.
However, the center of the rings is trapped tightly to the toy and takes a little longer to gnaw and tease out. This builds up dogs confidence even more - they feel they are problem solving.
Finally, even though the rawhide chew rings are now gone, there is the added bonus of the nylon ends and the rubber ball in the middle to chew, should they still feel the need to drain the tension out of their jaws (see Stress - its Symptoms and Solutions in our Members Area).
